Description
The Signature Healthcare Internship Program provides a hands-on learning experience tailored to your interests. You'll be placed in a specific department based on your qualifications, working alongside dedicated professionals in areas such as:
- Nursing: Assist nurses with patient care activities under close supervision, gaining insights into clinical practice.
- Therapy: Support occupational, physical, or speech therapists by observing treatments and learning about rehabilitation techniques.
- Social Work: Assist social workers with patient needs assessments, resource coordination, and discharge planning.
- Activities & Events: Help organize and participate in engaging activities that promote patient well-being and social interaction.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to various departments, gaining exposure to healthcare operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with assigned projects under the guidance of experienced mentors.
- Observe and participate in patient care activities as permitted by your internship level.
- Conduct research, collect data, and prepare reports relevant to your internship area.
- Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
- Specific tasks will vary depending on the chosen department and program focus.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in a healthcare field (nursing, therapy, social work, etc.) or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
- Strong interest in healthcare and a desire to work in a patient-centered environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassion, empathy, and a caring nature are essential.
- Eligibility to work in the specified country/region is required.
Experience
- Prior volunteer experience in a healthcare setting is a plus, but not required.
- A strong academic record demonstrates your learning potential.
