Description
As a graduate intern at the SBA, you'll collaborate with dedicated professionals in various program areas, including:
- Lending & Investment: Support loan programs, analyze financial data, and assist with investment initiatives.
- Business Counseling & Mentorship: Assist with counseling programs, develop resources, and mentor small business owners.
- Government Contracting: Help connect businesses with government contracting opportunities and navigate procurement processes.
- Disaster Assistance: Support disaster recovery efforts, provide resources, and assist businesses in rebuilding.
- Policy & Advocacy: Research and analyze policies, contribute to advocacy efforts, and communicate with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Assist with assigned projects under the guidance of experienced mentors.
- Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports relevant to your program area.
- Develop presentations, marketing materials, or other deliverables.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Contribute to maintaining a professional and collaborative work environment.
- Specific tasks will vary depending on your chosen program and location.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in business administration, public policy, economics, finance, or related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with additional software skills preferred depending on the program.
- U.S. citizenship or valid work authorization required.
Experience
- Prior internship or relevant work experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience in your field of study or a related field is a plus.
- Strong academic performance demonstrates your ability to excel in the internship.
