Description
As an Idaho Power graduate intern, you'll be placed in a specific department based on your interests and qualifications. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects across various areas, including:
- Engineering: Assist with power generation, transmission, and distribution projects, exploring renewable energy technologies like solar and wind.
- Operations & Maintenance: Gain firsthand experience in power plant operations, equipment maintenance, and grid reliability efforts.
- Regulatory & Environmental Affairs: Support regulatory compliance, environmental sustainability programs, and community engagement initiatives.
- Customer Service: Assist with customer inquiries, develop innovative solutions, and contribute to improving customer satisfaction.
- Information Technology: Support IT infrastructure, software development, and cybersecurity initiatives for efficient operations.
- Finance & Accounting: Learn about financial analysis, budgeting, and risk management within the energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Assist with assigned projects under the guidance of experienced mentors.
- Conduct research, collect data, and prepare reports relevant to your internship area.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and potential site visits.
- Contribute to maintaining a professional and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in engineering, environmental science, public policy, business administration, computer science, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with additional software skills preferred depending on the program.
- U.S. citizenship or valid work authorization required.
Experience
- Prior internship or relevant work experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience in your field of study or a related field is a plus.
- Strong academic performance demonstrates your ability to excel in the internship.
