Job Description:
The FBI Honors Internship Program offers a 10-week summer experience where you'll be placed in a specific FBI field office or headquarters division based on your academic background and interests. You'll collaborate with dedicated agents and analysts tackling critical issues in areas like:
- Criminology & Forensics: Assist with investigations involving violent crime, cybercrime, and white-collar offenses.
- Intelligence Analysis: Contribute to research and analysis of emerging threats and criminal activities.
- Cybersecurity: Explore cutting-edge technologies used to combat cybercrime and protect sensitive information.
- Behavioral Science: Gain insights into criminal behavior and profiling techniques used in investigations.
- Foreign Language: Utilize your language skills to translate documents, conduct interviews, and understand foreign threats.
- Victim Assistance: Support victims of crime and ensure their voices are heard throughout the investigative process.
Responsibilities
- Assist with assigned projects under the guidance of experienced FBI mentors.
- Conduct research, collect data, and prepare reports relevant to your internship area.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and potential crime scene visits (depending on clearance level).
- Contribute to maintaining a professional and secure work environment.
- Specific tasks will vary depending on the chosen program and office placement.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Currently enrolled in a master's degree program (all majors welcome) with graduation expected no later than summer 2025.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
- Strong interest in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance (security clearance level will vary depending on the internship).
Experience
- Prior internship or relevant work experience is a plus, but not required.
- A strong academic background demonstrates your potential for success.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with additional software skills preferred depending on the program.
