Description
The Department of Justice (DOJ) Summer Internship Graduate Program offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of law and government. Interns will be placed in various DOJ divisions and bureaus, working alongside experienced attorneys, paralegals, and other legal professionals.
Responsibilities
- Legal research and writing
- Assisting with casework
- Drafting legal documents
- Attending court hearings and depositions
- Participating in client interviews
- Contributing to ongoing DOJ projects and initiatives
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school (preferred for some positions)
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, criminal justice)
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record in political science, government, or a related field
Experience
- No prior experience is required, but internship experience or relevant coursework is a plus.
Skills
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
