Job Description:
Interns will be placed within various offices and divisions, working on projects related to areas such as:
- K-12 education: Policy development, program evaluation, and initiatives supporting student success.
- Higher education: Affordability, access, and quality improvement for colleges and universities.
- Special education: Ensuring equitable opportunities and support for students with disabilities.
- Student aid: Administration of federal financial aid programs and outreach initiatives.
- Civil rights: Protecting the rights of all students in educational settings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on assigned topics.
- Assist with drafting reports, presentations, and other deliverables.
- Participate in meetings and discussions with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of educational programs and initiatives.
- Provide support to program staff and participate in outreach activities.
- Maintain a professional and ethical work ethic.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in a relevant field, such as education, public policy, social work, law, or data science.
- Strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required.
Experience
- Prior internship or research experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience working in a government or education setting is a plus.
