Description
The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) is seeking motivated and enthusiastic students to participate in its paid Summer Internship Program for 2024. Interns will gain valuable experience working alongside Reclamation professionals on a variety of projects related to water resource management, hydropower generation, and infrastructure development. This program offers a unique opportunity to learn about Reclamation's mission, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop professional skills in a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist Reclamation professionals with various tasks related to their assigned project or area of work.
- Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports.
- Participate in field trips and site visits.
- Attend professional development workshops and seminars.
- Contribute to the team through effective communication and collaboration.
- Present internship findings at the program's culminating event.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, or a related field (limited spots available for other disciplines).
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status.
Experience
- Prior internship experience (preferred).
- Experience in research, data analysis, or technical writing (preferred).
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Additional technical skills may be required depending on the specific internship project.
